Thank you for this blog, it is a subject I do not know much about. I eagerly await to see how your project develops. |

Bookmarked and will be watched to see what comes along. And since you're going with 15 mm (a great scale in my opinion, why I have so much more than I need – and then some) if you can develop a plausible sense of what German colonial uniforms might have looked like (did?0 in the 1880s, that'd be great. I am going to set my hypothetical colonial gaming world in that time frame. Oh, and the Germans will almost certainly be more heroic and the British will certainly be more villainous than most people game. Not germano-centric or anglo-phobic, just like the change of pace. |

Thank you for doing the heavy lifting on this. I have been gearing and planning to do my Boer war figures But just not gotten around to it. This might be more in line. I have been curious about this for many years but not able to find much about it. Reading all your links and their links I have found out more this morning than I have in the past 15-20 years. You may have thought of this already. I was drawn to SW Afrika by a scenario Mr Novak did for Command Decision (I think) about the WWI South Africans being defeated by the Germans in 1915. Branch out to there also? |

Thanks folks! As for branching in to The Great War, not on the radar yet, unless it's East Africa. But one never knows! As for the heavy lifting, not really. I asked a few questions and got some great info/confirmation from Roy Jones. As for German uniforms in the 1880s, the German Colonial Uniforms site does a fine job going back that far, at least for the Wissmanntruppe. Link for that site is on my blog. |

I made a mistake about the last bit of my posting. It was an article on the Battle of Sandfontein 1914 by Peter Womack from Practical Wargamer March/April (year unknown) I always (probably mistaken) that SW Afika 1914 was same as 1904. Are the rules single based? |

If you mean the A Place in the Sun rules I have for download on the blog, yes, they would be mounted singly, but I plan on using Warbases movement trays to make it easier for players to move units, while still giving a bit of a random (open order) feel. |
