Took a pause on turn three of a play test to post a little write up and a slide show on the Light Bobs website. Hope you will all take a moment look at the game and download the beta rules set for free. Thoughts and comments are always welcome so take a look and do your part to support a small time designer. Here is the slide show link. Figures a mix of Trident and Sash and Sabre. Chris |

If you downloaded the rules and just got a cover page please try again. I setup the wrong download link on the site. Sorry |

Downloaded and gave a quick skim. The use of cards instead of dice seems like it will make for interesting play. |

I see that the print version is now available at OMM. Can I get a quick précis of the changes/expansions? |

The card command system is a lot of fun and very devious. I have used it in my Day of Battle (www.dayofbattle.com), medieval rules. It would be to difficult to try to comment on changes from the free downloaded version and the final print version. Nothing major in the systems mostly editing. I have noted in comments on TMM about new games coming out and the over all consensus is that people want really simply games that can be learned fast and bring a game to a fast conclusion. I am trying to rework my game to embrace some of those desires by players but still satisfy my vision. I have tried to write Light Bobs in such away that if you play 3 or 4 games you can pretty much dispose of the QRS except for the odd table on leaders getting harmed etc. I know I am the author but my memory isn't that good yet I can (am now) play testing two games side by side with out any QRS. Finally as I commented on the front page if you have read "Diary of the American War" by Johann Ewald" and enjoyed it you will feel the same way for this game. Chris |
