I would love to buy about a platoon of WWII American troops and German troops each, basic infantry. I want to be able to play Chain of Command I hate the fiddly-ness of painting, it's just to small for my fat fingers. What is a good scale to use? I don't have much space, but I'm thinkin' 15mm is probably the smallest I want to do. I would like 28mm but that gets pricey fast. maybe 20mm plastics? |

Well, if you don't mind playing 'green army men' style, there are plenty of 20mm (aka 1/72 scale)* plastics available in solid colors. You would need to base them to give them some heft and keep some from falling over. *I'm not going to get into the whole 'is 20mm really 1/72' argument here. They are close enough for my tastes. |

+1 Stryderg. Or watch the ads here and on bartertown.com for painted soldiers. 15mm WWII comes up fairly often, 20mm WWII a bit less often. The 20mm, being bigger figures with more detail, tend to run more expensive than the 15s, many of which are painted to 'wargame average' standard. Or go to a game convention and hit the dealers and flea market for the best prices. You're fairly close to "Advance the Colors" in Springfield, which will be in October this year. "Cincycon" in May in Cincinnati is a bit of a drive, but really worth it if you can manage. There are a couple of cons held each year by a very active group in the Fort Meigs/Toledo area. They're talking about hosting a flea market in July. Keep your eye on the Conventions board here on TMP. |

My 1/72 scale stuff has been on a sort of revival as I too have the Chain of Command bug. I wanted to play and had all this "stuff" in 1/72 scale already. Have been busy building models and painting. I have seen plenty of reasonable painted and priced miniatures on the usual auction sites. Take your choice. For Chain of Command a basic force is not that many miniatures. Support assets may be tough to find so you might consider a painting service for specific items. |

Gajo Games has both new and used figures. They are very strong on 15mm, but do have some 25mm as well. |

Worth taking a look at The Guild forum. Members often post WW2 figures for sale there, usually 20 mm ( which is probably best size for Chain of Command- great rule set by the way) |

Besides TMP and bartertown, check out E-bay. Type in prepainted 28mm (or 20mm or 15mm) or prepainted Flames of War. I've purchased quite a bit prepainted from Ebay. Most is painted pretty well, tho you will find some very poorly painted. So buyer beware. Noble Knight Games carries some items as well. |

Hey Brian. Down in my deep dark cellar I found a small stash of painted 20mm WWII US infantry. Drop me an email to discuss further. zippy-at-fuse-dot-net |
