I have some Reaper pieces, Ghostly Summons and Fire Elemental. I would like to keep them primarily translucent. I think they need some dark color in the recessed places, and some lighter colors on the highlights. However, when I dabbed some wash in the recesses, it ran or pooled in a couple of places. The only way I know to prime them would cover the translucence. I know this can be done, so I'd appreciate any suggestions.

I have some Krylon primer for plastics that goes on clear:

Maybe that would help. The other thing you might try is glear gesso: link

They really don't need primer, but they do need to be washed thoroughly. (And many primers turn the Bones material tacky, so use primer with caution.) See this recent thread for lots of advice on painting Bones translucents:
