Hi! I've just finished painting quite a few of the Artizan British commandos with shorts and woolly hats from the North Africa theatre. Great models full of character and straight out of the pages of those old 'Commando' comics! I've seen a few guides to late war, European theatre sections of thirteen commandos, but does anyone know what the organisation was prior to then? I understand that they would have been very flexible depending on the raid etc, but just as some idea as to what would have been 'standard' at this time? Cheers! |

link Is a link describing a commando raid near Dieppe in 1942 Bayonet strength gives 1943 organisation: link Then there are the Wikipedia articles: link I think this should give you some ideas. The organisation only became fairly standard between Army and Navy commandoes around 1943, I think? |
