Hi, all. I'm looking for a source for 15mm scaled pointy conical turret top for a castle tower, similar to this one:
Something from a toy set would be just fine. I'm trying to cover a circular bottom part about 3 inches across. Thanks in advance. V/R Walt O'Hara |

So easy to make. Cut a circle from stiff paper. Cut a wedge out of the circle (think pie slice). Make the circle into a cone with a little overlap. Glue the overlap. Cover the cone in tiles, plaster, whatever you fancy. |

And you could even print out tilework on card stock and not have to do anything to it at all. Try looking at Finger and Tow products on Wargame Vault… |

Plastic pouring funnels? Fluted plastic champagne glasses? Another option: link Or perhaps cardboard?

I've used the cardboard versions -- a 3 inch diameter cone fits perfectly on top of a Pringles can and looks right from a scale perspective. Any of the bigger ones look far too tall, so if 3 inch doesn't do it, you will have to make your own our of paper or cardstock. The little cones used for water coolers are also a possibility. I print out a sheet of shingle texture and then cut it into small strips and glue on to the carboard, overlapping a bit to give it more of a 3D look. You cannot just make the cone out of the texture paper, because the lines of shingles will be going the wrong way as you make the cone. If you end up making your own, search for "how to make a paper cone" -- there are many sites out there that show you how to do it and how to get the diameter/height you want. |

Here's a picture of one of my towers that uses the 3-inch cone. link |
