If there is one, is that yet again I find myself short of "stuff" (and that auto correct changed the title before I noticed grrrr) This is the Lancastrian host generated for one of the battles generated from the 1455 campaign. As the game focuses on Nobles that is where I find myself short. My normal rules, HC & Bloody Barons, only need 3 generals a side. ACOS however benefits from the representation of the major nobles. In this case I have 8 Lancastrians and 5 Yorkists to represent plus the captains within their Retinues which is another 32 command units……as I provide both forces this is a bit of a strain on resources and painting. I have had to proxy in just to get these out and onto the table. The Yorkist units are complete it is just the lords and captains so a new order is in to the nice people at Peter Pig

That is an issue yes. I does require pretty substantial collections. Then again I guess one can adapt it to smalelr ones. This is why I just gave up on doing this in 28mm. It will have to be given the 10mm treatment. |

HC needs a load more archers, so adding more Commision of Array isn't a wasted activity for any of the three rule sets. I've asked for another 16 bases of Archers to fill out. having the extra command isn't going to be a bind, it actually is more pleasing on the eye. I just wasn't expecting to have to add so many so quickly. As I have both sides it's a pain but not for club games or where there are other gamers who contribute forces |

I have n't really checked the rules out yet, but was wondering if the army lists generate historically sound forces? The WotR is outside my comfort zone, but the Scottish army structure for the Largs scenario just bears no real relationship to what we know of the force involved. |

are you talking HC or A Coat of Steel? When I mentioned HC it was because that is the biggest draw on new figures in the three rule sets. ACOS, which I have just discovered, only needs a better depiction of the commanders which at first glance is a lot but all told thats under 60 figures, where as I was looking at over a 100 to bring HC upto something reasonable |

It's relativley easy to generate a St Albans I OOB from the ACoP 1455 scenario. Both armies are made of retinue troops. For terrain, you'll need the town ditch to fight over and the buildings of the town itself behind the Lancastrians. |

The retinues are easy to replicate from my existing collection, it is the representation of the "red" commanders that needs a bit of thought. In Bloody Barons I have about 24 command stands between the two armies which help a little. I also have the 10 or so "body guard" stands as well. After that my non archer stands don't allow me to use them as a proxy as they are pure bill men etc. I have an additional 15 of both standard bearers and generals/captains which I will turn into a mix of nobles and captains over the next couple of weeks after that will have to playlist by ear. Freezywater are going to get a bit of business though |

Hope you do an AAR on your game using ACOS. I have the rules but have never actually played a game using the rules. It would be nice to see how it plays out in a two player game. |
