Hi everyone; In my project of setting up a WWII Nightfigher game, I'm searching for a solid back mat overlayed with white or light grey hexes, each hex could be 1 1/4" or 1 1/2". A total mat size of 2x3 or 3x4 would work great. Chessex once made them, but they are discontinued. Does anybody know of a manufacturer, or should I try to get one custom made. Felt or Vinyl is fine. Thanks; Joe |

Make your own but mark hex centers. It will take you an hour and a small jar of craft paint. Very easy to do. |

I've made four or five of my own using marine vinyl as the base. Made the hex pattern using plastic canvas (for needlework – in the craft store) to lay out the grid. As EC says, takes about an hour for one the size you want. |

Maybe Monday Knight Productions' economy mats: link Or if you're going to DIY, go to a hobby store and pick up a paper mache hexagon box to use as a template:
