Has anyone built this Black Ronin set, or a similar kit, for their Wokou/Wako* pirates or basic Samurai gaming?

Full set here:

If so, got pics of the final assembled product together with figures, for comparison?

Or are there other options you have found to be better?

Thanks,

Dan

Dan,

I copied the free image that you had posted from their website. The image size as downloaded is about 11" x 15.5". That should be good for 28mm figures. For 15mm figures you would have to downsize it, of course.

It appears to be an easy kit to assemble. I'd recommend gluing the pieces to matte board for additional strength. The roof can probably be made separately so you can take it off in order to put figures inside.

I made a similar set of bamboo buildings from the Miniature Wargaming web site. You can see how they turned out here:

link (The figures are 28mm size.) (And the link to the downloadable huts is the the posting.)

And the final products used in the play-test game are here:

Great looking stuff!

Thanks for sharing.

I shall have to purchase a set or two, and get to painting up some Samurai and Ninjas. and then wait for a moonless night.

I used a couple of these as the basis for my rural samurai house I posted recently, they are very good and you get a load for your money :-) Well worth supporting :-D

Don't do this to me. I have Ronin in my Amazon shopping cart right now, and those North Star sets… OMG!

Don't do Ronin, This cries out for a mod to Crooked Dice's "7th Voyage" cinematic skirmish rules. Heroic samurai, sneaky hordes of ninja, it would be great!

Well, shoot, this is going to jump the queue in front of my 7th Voyage Sinbad game plans, now… where are those samurai and villagers? (I already have a zillion plastic ninjas)

Aaaannnd I just bought these buildings to use too.

There seems to be another Samurai house/hut in here, somewhere:

Edit: found it

The second one shown here might work also, I think:

Has anyone here ever tried these PresTax adhesive "mounting boards":

Looks like super thin MDF(?) with an adhesive surface.

The Byodo-in "Phoenix Hall" is a very large building.

I'm still tempted to build it, and then add a little 'tech' to it for an Infinity board, but it will take up a whole lot of the table.

Well, I think that would be a magnificent project, Lion.
