Oh Gawd…. Mask wearing secret identities. As realistic as Clark Kent wearing glasses. Simply wearing a tricorne does not make it a "must see" for me. |

If I go it'll be for John Rhys-Davies' acting, rather than for the rather contrived plot…. |

Hollywood will put out like this and when no one goes to see it, they write historic movies off as a money loser. Marvel Comics 1776. Harrumph. |

I have the opposite opinion in that it is very hard to get youth interested in history much less wargaming. My own daughter and longtime girlfriend yawn when I tell them about the latest Age of Lace style movie. My view is that some historical license is a good idea as it makes a story appealing to the young and they ask questions about the period in question. My daughter watched National Treasure and asked a bunch of questions about the treasure, Masons, the Founding Fathers etc. I would have never been able to get her attention with a story about Benjamin Franklin and his kite. I think this type of movie focuses attention on a historical period and than people ask about the truth of the movie. |

Nah, most people will not believe you if the facts are very different than the movie. I like the quote from one director " I don't let the facts get in the way of the story". |
