Oh Gawd….
Mask wearing secret identities.
As realistic as Clark Kent wearing glasses.

Simply wearing a tricorne does not make it a "must see" for me.

If I go it'll be for John Rhys-Davies' acting, rather than for the rather contrived plot….

With so much good historical tails to film why this pot boiler? But the young should enjoy this.

Hollywood will put out Bleeped text like this and when no one goes to see it, they write historic movies off as a money loser.

I have the opposite opinion in that it is very hard to get youth interested in history much less wargaming. My own daughter and longtime girlfriend yawn when I tell them about the latest Age of Lace style movie.

My view is that some historical license is a good idea as it makes a story appealing to the young and they ask questions about the period in question. My daughter watched National Treasure and asked a bunch of questions about the treasure, Masons, the Founding Fathers etc. I would have never been able to get her attention with a story about Benjamin Franklin and his kite.

I think this type of movie focuses attention on a historical period and than people ask about the truth of the movie.

Nah, most people will not believe you if the facts are very different than the movie. I like the quote from one director " I don't let the facts get in the way of the story".
