And please, do not mention Warweb, as I, and numerous others, have had bad experiences with them ever since the original owner sold the business.

Looking for an online retailer, preferably in the States, who carries Old Glory 15s for a discount. Yep, I'm frugal. I am looking for their Boxer and Boer War ranges.

Thanks in advance!

That is who I would suggest too.

Yeah. If you buy enough, the discounts are pretty deep.

Agreed. Have never had any issues ordering from them.

19th Century Miniatures is the place to go.

Rrobbyrobot16 Jan 2015 12:55 p.m. PST

I agree. On the one occasion I thought my order was taking too long to reach me I was able to call them and they were down right cheerful. No real problem and my order arrived very soon after. Good folks.

I'm going to be redundant and suggest 19th Century Miniatures.

Scott MacPhee16 Jan 2015 1:24 p.m. PST

19th Century are very good guys. They have customized pose mixes for me in the past, and that 40% discount is pretty easy to get to.

Buckeye AKA Darryl16 Jan 2015 2:37 p.m. PST

I am pleasantly surprised and pleased to hear this. Looks like a 20% discount for $100.00 USD orders, plus they are rotating their extra sale through their various ranges of another 10%, so I just need to watch for when the Boer and Boxer ranges come up.

I say surprised because aren't these the same folks who also own Warweb with all of its issues?

Wargamer Blue16 Jan 2015 2:48 p.m. PST

19th Century Miniatures and Warweb are the same people.

19th Century Miniatures and Warweb are the same people.

This is what I do not understand. From all reports they act like schmucks when running Warweb down the hall, but are all aces with 19thCM. And no one has mentioned this to them face-to-face? At least it sounds like I no longer need to fear ordering from them anymore, unlike Warweb.

BTW anyone know what range was on sale prior to today, which just started a Zulu sale.

goragrad16 Jan 2015 11:31 p.m. PST

Romans were the previous sale. Everything from Republic to Byzantium.

What lines were you ordering from Warweb? If its not something that the guys at 19th Century produces, like say Blue Moon or other Old Glory lines, you may be in for a wait. Therein lies their problem. At least that's what I understand to to be.

Henry Martini17 Jan 2015 6:23 a.m. PST

Perhaps they've just overreached themselves.

Thinking about it, yes, it's probably overreach.

It seems to be one of their problems, which is out of their control. BTW I love OG15s products and am glad the mini side of the company is working well.

Rats! Well, I guess it saved me some money…for the moment. grin

Dave Crowell17 Jan 2015 7:21 p.m. PST

Blue Moon is related to Old Glory, aka Old Glory25s. 19th Century Miniatures aka Old Glory15s is a completely separate and unrelated company.

The extremely similar names often cause confusion.

Henry Martini18 Jan 2015 3:01 a.m. PST

I don't see any confusion in preceding posts, Dave.

Dave Crowell18 Jan 2015 6:39 p.m. PST

Henry, though I saw somebody mentioning Blue Moon as being from the same folks.

I tend to order OG15s from 19th Century, that discount is easy to hit when you buy an army. I am glad the bags are a bit smaller than they used to be to be honest. Even in 15mm "big" battle games, 100 figs to a pack is a bit much.

Henry Martini19 Jan 2015 6:47 a.m. PST

Confusion aside, should someone want to mix OG15s with Blue Moon (say, to increase variety in a colonial native horde),they are compatible in terms of size and style.

I always had very good service from 19th century Miniatures, so the negative feedback about Warweb is disappointing and surprising. Almost inevitably though, once knowledge of their common ownership becomes widespread 19th Century's image – and potentially, business – will suffer. I sincerely hope they can get Warweb back on track before the damage becomes irreparable.
