I was wondering if anyone could help me with the camoflage colors that US Marines wore in WWII, and the camo colors of British Paras in WWII. The reason I ask is that I am wanting to paint up some 1/72 scale US airborne (Esci) and use them as French Foreign Legion paras in Indo China. It seems the French used US and Brit equipment with kitting out their troops, but I am color deficient in shades of green, browns and reds. I am using Vallero paints. Thanks in advance. :) |

Can't offer specific paint colors, but if you'll click on the top right-hand picture at this link link you can see a meticulously researched reproduction of the WW2 Marine camouflage uniform. Jim |

Mike; I have a collection of original USMC camouflaged uniforms and gear – effectively a full assault kit that can be placed over several different uniforms. Given the ease of technology these days, I could sent you pics of the uniforms. Note, the camouflaged uniforms are reversible – one side brown/tan for beach, the other green/green for jungle. So you will need to "select" the side you want displayed. While most folks seem to display the green side, the was another option :) E-mail me if interested. Mark (mhoran -at- snet -dot- net) |
