I have posted the latest version of the LaserGrenadiers rules in my blog site at lasergrenadier.wordpress.com. I just posted my third photo gallery today, so drop by and take a look.

LaserGrenadiers extends combined arms combat into the future, allowing players to field powered armor infantry, tanks, crewed weapons, wardrones, helicopters, battledrones or "mechs," artillery and ground attack aircraft.

Vehicle propulsion systems may be wheeled, tracked, grav, hover, rocket or walker. The rules include all types of science fiction weaponry (lasers, cone rifles, phasers, ion cannon, etc.), but do not include psionic warfare. Fire combat dominates the game, with melee combat occurring infrequently.

The rules were intended for use with any science fiction figures the players may have, and have been used for battles ranging from a few figures on each side up to the final battles of major campaigns with up to a hundred figures and twenty armored vehicles per side.

Basics: One figure equals one man. One vehicle equals one vehicle. The game can range from skirmish level actions to huge combined arms battles, depending on the players and the size of the tabletop. The rules are intended for use with 25mm to 30mm figures, but this does not rule out the use of the 15mm miniatures (using centimeters instead of inches).

Do you run demo games locally?

LaserGrenadier Supporting Member of TMP14 Jan 2015 3:37 p.m. PST

The last time I ran a demo was back in 1990 at Origins in Atlanta. I have been considering running a demo game, but my ability to do so is dependent upon my creating some forces I can take on the road.

I have some old resin 25mm GZG tanks that should be able to take a beating, and enough Star Rangers to equip two sides, but I have been too busy to get them painted.

Sent you a private message in that regard.

How much playtesting is behind this? Can it be played competitively?

I've been looking at your website, but for the life of me I can't find the actual rules, just lots of tables.

nnascati,

Keep working your way back through the postings. I started with the rules, then posted the tables. So the most recent postings are the tables and miscellaneous additional information. On the other hand, you could click on "October 2014" in the right hand margin and get closer to my first postings.

blackfang,

The game has been played and tested by various groups of wargamers and non-wargamers since the 1980's. Although I provided some guidance on determining unit costs/values in Chapter 33, the factors are not structured to create balanced forces for highly competitive tournament games.

I hope that helps. Thanks for your questions.
