Hi,

While researching family history I find myself needing to know who commanded the 43rd Foot inn Canada in 1841. Specifically, I need to know the name of col Henry Booth's successor.

Anybody know of a reference source for this?
My Google fu is coming up short.

Thanks,
Duncan

Major James Forlong took command as Lt-Col. and remained as such until his retirement in 1855.

At some point he was knighted so you might also find Sir James Forlong, KH to be useful.

enfant perfus,

Thank you. That's the guy. Googling him turned up just enough biographical information to almost prove that the colonel of the 43rd is not the colonel referred to in the family story after all. frown
