Bartouri, Cameroon (NAFP) – A terrorist attack cell assassinated a Chinese ambassador being escorted through a rural region near the containment zone in Eastern Cameroon.
It is unclear why the ambassador, Xiangfen Zu, was targeted or why he was in such a location in the first place.
Pan Oceana officials believe that the attack may have been the purpose behind the attack on the defense grid earlier that day. Early evidence suggests that the attack was carried out by members of the terrorist organization the Combined Army but there are reports that American forces were involved in the attack as well.
In his second press conference of the day Colonel Serpal Singh told reporters that two soldiers were killed and five were wounded in the attack.
"One of our T.A.G.s was heavily damaged in the attack as well. We will have a better idea of what happened when we retrieve the data logs from the machine," Serpal said.
When asked if American forces had been involved in the assault he said the Defense Ministry had no comment yet.
In an unusual communication the Kah Leisay, the Combined Army political wing, claimed responsibility for the attack but said that it engaged both American and Pan Oceana forces in the battle. The brief release contained images of the attack.

The ambassador's wife and son were also killed in the attack, an event that the Kah Leisay communications says it regrets.

The Barouri Medical Examiner's office reports that injuries from plasma munitions caused the death of Mu,although there were numerous other injuries. A full autopsy report is expected by the end of the week.
It is not clear what object the American forces had there if any. Some images from Kah Leisay do show what appear to be American troops in the area at the time.

Some are speculating that the American forces may have been attempting to gain access to Pan Oceana technology. Based on one of the Kah Leisay photos, they say that one of the American soldiers is removing parts from the downed T.A.G.
