Here's a Musket and Shako's AAR by Aleksandar Saranac.

Aleksandar uses 6mm figures on a 1 foot by 1 foot table. He has scaled a ruler down to 1" = 3" giving the feel of a standard 3 foot by 3 foot table.

The French assault was gaining momentum when the game threw a spanner into the works.

Hope you enjoy it

WOW! Excellent looking work.

Nice figs and that is one tiny table – looks like a great way to game when space is tight

I agree. Outstanding work. The table is metal sheet underneath so that magnetized stands will adhere, making "bumping" the table a thing of the past.

Love to see small battlefields and your 6mm are a credit to you.

A really nice display, and very achievable – unlike thos massive tables we see groaning under the weight of all the 28mm lead!
The metal sheet and magnetised bases is a great idea, too.

I can hardly believe that this is a 1X1 foot table. Truly great.

As someone who likes to play small, I have to say I'm impressed with how good that game looks. Am I right in thinking there are bases available with between 1 and 3 figures in order to show casualties?

M C MonkeyDew28 Feb 2015 9:34 a.m. PST

Saranac would know for sure of course. Iirc, the figures are individually based and magnetized with metal trays. So each casualty or detachment just pops off as needed.

Lovely looking board and figures, I am going head long into 6mm and 10mm for all my wargaming now due to table restraints, so it's good to see how others do it.

Maxshadow14 Mar 2015 8:29 p.m. PST

Pretty impressive!

Sorry, I think I am not visiting this place as often as i should, but unfortunately, when I am usually on-line, this place is closed for maintenance.

@Kaptain Kobold – actually, all my 6mm figures are individually based on 3mm washers (that is 7mm outer diameter) – infantry on singe washer, cavalry on 2 washers side by side.

As movement trays I use parts of 3m metal measuring tape (it is 15mm wide) cut to 22mm so that it can safely accommodate 3 cavalry or 6 infantry models.

Upper side of the tray is covered with magnetic foil, so that washers stick to it.

Also, my complete 12"x18" playing table is covered with magnetic foil (paper template is then glued over it to simulate grass) so that bottoms of the trays stick to the ground.

This way, everything is secure :)
