I hope the best for him and his family.

His designs have given my game friends and me 100's of hours if entertainment. Thank you for that, Mr. Hill.

Hate to hear this. I've liked how he designed his board games. While it doesn't sound good, I sincerely hope that he gets better.

Very sad news indeed. You're in my prayers John.

Squad Leader was my intro to wargaming and ASL is my favorite to this day (granted John Hill had no hand in the design of that one and thinks it is over-complex but it grew out of his game).

My prayers as well for him and his family.

Capt John Miller12 Jan 2015 7:01 a.m. PST

Clays Russians12 Jan 2015 8:52 a.m. PST

Any update on his condition?

Rich Trevino12 Jan 2015 8:57 a.m. PST

From boardgamegeek. link

"As of 1:17 AM EST, Todd Davis reported the following:

John is stabilized

The doom and gloom doctors from this morning are much more hopeful of recovery now….John is still in ICU and is under heavy sedation though. He's probably going to be a bit PO'd I scared you all, but I'll be happy as hell to have him yell at me for that!"

Martimer12 Jan 2015 2:56 p.m. PST

Today's update is less than pleasant. "John is back in CCU. His heart stopped and he was resuscitated. He is back on full life support with his family by his side to say their goodbyes."

I am so grateful for what he did for the hobby.
