In reference to respect. A past military leader, I can't remember who, said something like, "They will respect the rank on the man[or woman], but you may have to earn their respect for the man[or woman] wearing the rank." … I'd know in the civilian world it would be similar. There is always a hierarchy at the work place, etc. The CEO, boss, owner, etc., is at the top and then works it's way down … |

Again, Ralph, you're heaping Pelion on Ossa. |

I knew that those were mountains in Greece. But never heard that saying. But for those like me who are not as well read as some others here … The expression "to pile (or heap) Pelion on Ossa" means: to heap difficulty upon difficulty; to attempt that which is all but impossible.Pelion is a mountain peak in Thessaly, about 5,300 feet high; Ossa, another peak in Thessaly, about 6,500 feet high.
Beyond that I'm not sure what is being alluded to what I'm doing ? Again ? Regardless … That reminds me, I want try that new Greek Eatery in town. I love that stuff ! |

like me who are not as well read as some others here I, of course, have no idea how well read you are. Though I can see your knowledge of geography is clearly profound:
I knew that those were mountains in Greece. My apologies about my failure to communicate with you. I perhaps should have written, "Tell it not in Gath"? Does this make my point? I can recommend Patsas or Kokoretsi at your "Eatery". |

Yes, Gath was one of the Philistine cities. Mentioned in the Bible or Hebrew Bible. So I'm aware of that. But my knowledge of both books in minimal. Of course I know some geography from my broad study of history. Regardless back to Gath. If I get it right: Don't spread rumors or scandals. Keep it all to yourself. Again, If I get that right. And yes, I like most Greece dishes[or most other foods]… but I can't spell them … And speaking of food. I recall a while back you were amazed when I posted my body weight. At this time and it took over 2 years. I lost over 70lbs as the Vet Docs told me they couldn't give me a hip replacement[as my right hip had generated]. Until I lost @ at least 50lbs. I got my new hip on 01 Sep. I'm still recovering, but very nicely according to the Vet Docs. I plan on continue to lose more weight for an number of reasons. One being I have to be in good shape to defend against all my enemies I have online. Just in case. |

Exactly! As Lorca wrote: A las cinco de la tarde. Eran las cinco en punto de la tarde. "Online enemies" is too strong but your opponents don't need extra ammunition. And you're welcome. you were amazed when I posted my body weight. I think you recollect incorrectly. Your girth is, unfortunately, of no interest to me. |

Again IIRC Lorca was a matador and poet ? I had to translate what you posted : At five o'clock in the afternoon. It was five o'clock in the afternoon What does that have to do with … anything ?
And you're welcome. What am I thanking you for ? As far as the rest … I'm old an get confused easily … |
