Open Saturday, the 10th, no hint of problems, Sunday, store front boarded up, along with a candy store just down the corridor. I wonder if the employees were told.

The one in Northampton UK has closed as well.

I looked through the gaps in the panels covering the store front, and it's empty, no tables or stock. Suddenly gutted.

I thought they had already closed all of the USA mall-based stores in favor of the new small model?

I was told it was just moving to St Giles Street in Northampton, they were recruiting for a new manager.

I was there today before the stores opened and thought the panels amounted to a bonus security measure! Well, that's too bad.

That said, I always brace myself when I go in those damn stores. I really don't want to be engaged, I know my way around quite well. I just like to see the new stuff and buy the occasional paint thankyouverymuch.

The Fair Oaks store is supposed to be moving out of the mall and re-opening as a one man store.

There is a store in sterling just west of drainsville road off of route 7. It is a very small store.

Sounds like GW has not changed in their employment practices. They are famous for their overnight changes like these without any warning.

Pretty sure, but not positive, this is how it happened at the White Marsh location here in MD. And that store was opened the longest at 15 years.

The store in Sterling, Va. closed a few months ago.

I am not liking the news from or about GW these days.

It's a little bit of a drive from Sterling (better since WV route 9 is now all 4 lane)but my LGS in Martinsburg WV has a good stock of GW stuff (as well as Historical and boardgames) It's called Your Hobby Place, located less than a mile off interstate 81. Plus they moved to a new location a couple months back and now have a huge gaming area, with a separate outside entrance so you can game long after the store is closed.
