I think you asked about this one before old chap; TMP link Yes, I read it. I'm not a button counter so I enjoyed it. I don't think it would appeal to those who know at what stage of ripening the orchards at Hougoumont were, but for someone with a general interest I think it compiles things into a readable account. cheers Jon. |

Actually a very important detail……….. For a diorama, I purchased six OO/HO model railway apple trees complete with beautiful red apples and then thought, hang on, June in North West Europe………never used them. I have RHA gunners, Grenadiers a Cheval, Garde Dragoons, Horse Artillery of La Garde, all trampling ripe wheat……..but in June it would still have been green…… Cornwall's book is far better than expected and will bring the story to a new audience |
