Technically, only corporals and higher were supposed to have stripes on their trouser legs. True. Enlisted men had trousers without strips. Officers had a very thin red strip on the dark blue trousers, too narrow to paint in 10mm ;-) Yes, I reenact Civil War artillery. link |

At my age, I am just happy to still be able to paint the stripes on their legs. I intend to paint a 10mm Inspector General who will catch these sorts of errors in the future. |
