Since I am notoriously a Comcast salesman grin I naturally have the new X1 system.
But this is not a sales pitch. However, if you live in Pennsylvania… or elsewhere, PM me.

April Morning is notoriously difficult to obtain or view. It came out in 1988 or so, and made a brief appearance on VHS.
It appears often on the Lamented List of movies here on TMP.

So, I decided to check out a few AWI movies to see if they were available On Demand. With the new X1 system, you just "type in" the name of … anything.
So I typed in "April Morning" on the Search function, and … There it is!!! FREE!!! I have no indication in whose library it is, which seems to indicate that is in Comcast's

I have to go out now to sell Comcast, but I will definitely watch it later.

HUZZZAH!

Now to check out more difficult ones.
Any suggestions?

I'll check out Johnnie Tremaine later.
And Swamp Fox.

My kids had to read Johnnie Tremaine in school – a movie based on it most be a true horror.

available on Netflix also

You can buy the DVD on Amazon, they make it to order, but it is also available streaming on Netflix.

Now if I could only get Great Catherine (1968) all my old movie quests would be complete.

Swamp Fox was sold in a limited edition collectable case a few years ago. You might be able to find on on EBay. It wasn't all the episodes, but a nice selection.

I was able to acquire the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh the same way.

Still looking for Great Catherine and the scene where she has a full model of the Battle of Bunker Hill complete with Boston, Charleston, Boston Harbor and British men of war and the troops and ships all have tiny functional cannons.

Johnny Tremain is readily available on DVD.

The Crossing is also On Demand.
Great Catherine, no.

Swamp Fox is posted on YouTube. You may not want to watch it though, because my fond memories of the series do not match the quality of the script and filming that we expect in this day and age.

Are we talking the Disney version of the Swamp Fox filmed in the hills and stream of California. Which by the way look nothing like the Carolina swamps.

Bill N10 Jan 2015 4:51 p.m. PST

April Morning also was on Netflix recently.

Redcoat 5510 Jan 2015 5:21 p.m. PST

Yes Doug, we are talking nostalgia here. :)

When we have the Lone Ranger and Star Trek filming on the same outdoor sets, it does not surprise me to have the Swamp Fox skirmishing all over Knott's Berry Farm.

I really liked One April Morning. Shame it is so hard to come by.
