I am replaying the scenarios from the Britton Publishers Operation Jupiter scenario book. Although the scenarios are designed for skirmish, most of them are scaled down from larger forces. So I am using approximately the same number of figures, but scaling them up and using my own "battalion" level rules (1:10 figure scale). I have played 5 of these so far and they have all been loads of fun. I have written up the first on at this blog post: link A picture of a suppressed company as they advance out of the woods:

Shaun, Great stuff as always, but try to settle down and take some notes next time ;) I'm looking forward to seeing you get through the whole book, which is a goal of mine as well, but I seem to keep finding other things to preoccupy my time. V/R, Jack |

How long did the game take to play? Also, if the German AT guns had waited until the tanks were closer might they have scored some kills? |

Thanks Shaun – bought my first 1/72 today (different period), it was the only box in the shop – but I was interested to see how the scale looks on a small table – so I appreciate your small table scenario. |

Jack – I have played 4 more and have written notes for none of them. I think 5 is all I am going to manage over this holiday break – the other 25 in the book will have to wait until later in the year. I seem to remember the game took just under an 1 hour to play. It took 30 minutes to setup (as I had to unpack the various boxes with the terrain in it). If the tanks had been closer, they would have a better change to hit. At the range they were, it would not have effected penetration if the tanks were closer. I fired at the longer range as at the range they opened fire (> 18") it would be harder for the tanks to spot the AT Guns. |

Have the Operation Luettich book. Worth every penny! Love the gaming table used to depict the scenario mats. |

It think you may not like it – think of Rapid fire with companies rather than battalions and card activation. I am not that fond of Rapid Fire, but I do really like Take Cover!!, a clone-ish of it (and what my rules are derived from). |
