A period I know only the broad parts of, I know the generaly weaponary, the baics of uniforms, but little about real tactics, nothing about rules for the period ect. I'm drawn to it, as an excuse to work on some terran modeling. It's a bit cliche but I want to make a wartorn "no mans land" I'm drawn to british, as I'm a anglofile and painted british/english for many many periods. So far my shopping list is 1. British from Great war miniatures 2. Germans from same 3. stryofoam 4. styrofoam cutter, But what more do I need, which glues are best, I read something about "cement" I need to texture the foam, paint it, need trees(easy to find sticks) I need waterstuff to make puddles. barbwire, wood to make planks in the trenches ect. Help me my friends. |

Is there a period that you are familiar already – WW2, modern, etc? From the first choice of miniatures, I would recommend you check out Roundwood's World if you haven't already done so. Lots of great information, tips and inspiring photographs of no mans land and related terrain. sidneyroundwood.blogspot.co.uk Robert |

Check out Sidney Roundwood's blog, as already mentioned, his stuff is amazing. as for rules, the two I would recommend are Square Bashing for big operational sized games and Through the Mud and the Blood for small scale tactical games. Both are equally excellent (TtMatB in particular because of its revisionist stance on First World war history, no Lions and Donkeys crap in there!). I have made a load of terrain for WW1 and have loads of 20mm and 15mm figures of Germans and British: you can see it on my blog (look for the tags for Squarebashing, Through the Mud and the Blood, WW1, etc.): link link link |

I've been gaming WW1 for years. All my terrain is scratch built. Please check out this article on my blog. link |
