I wanted to get back into my "Prehistoric Cave Wars" wargaming scenarios, and needed another Mammoth, as I'd broken one I had from years ago. But the last 'Trader' I knew who had sold them replied in the negative when I emailed. However, he gave me the name of another Trader, Steve Wood, of Arcane Scenery & Models.

An email later, and Steve told me he stocks the *whole* DeeZee Miniatures range of animals, including prehistoric animals, and at the moment he has a set of 7 Neanderthal Hunters (Lucid Eye figures) together with a DeeZee Bellowing Mammoth for just £32.00 GBP – *bargain* as Steve does not charge postage!!!

So if you have need for a prehistoric animal, an African Lion, or an American Buffalo (e.g.) or require anything in the scenery line, try Arcane Scenery & Models

And we've got them here in the States: link

Glad to see that the models are also available in the States, who is it that's marketing them, Wolfgang Brooks?

Steve Barber does some fine prehistoric animals … but… his "Mammoth" looks like (I've got one, so I know) a Mastodon, not a Mammoth. I use the 'Mastodon', but wanted a *proper* looking Mammoth. Also, Steve Barber's prehistoric figs / animals range was modelled when 25mm was the "scale" figure size, now it's 28mm at best and most figures are 'growing' into 30s 32s and even larger, but marketed as 28mm! So Steve's Mastodon looks remarkably small against the Lucid Eye Cro-Magnons or Neanderthals.

Lucid Eye is coming out with a whole new lost world range and rules that look to be very promising. I have the Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon, and I'm very impressed with them.

Just to let you know we are working very closely with Lucid Eye as well. We are expecting the next pack of Cromagnons in the next couple of weeks as well as more packs for the Simians and Atlanteans. To see the current range of Lucid Eye follow this link:
