Hello everyone, I'm working on a project in two parts: 1) create a base for every unit of every army that fought in the Napoleonic wars. The ratio is 1 for every 100 miniature real military. According to my plan I have to paint over 31500 miniatures. To date I have painted over 3400. I have already painted all the small contingent of the Confederation of the Rhine and I started painting the great armies: English, French, Russian, Austrian, Spanish, in addition to the Netherlands, Italy, Naples, Poland, Bavaria etc etc. 2) be able to recreate the battles and clashes that took place during the Napoleonic era. In this regard, I have created a table 200x400 cm (which I presented in TMP / General message / Terrain and scenic), I'm painting and creating bases with style dwellings Central European, Mediterranean, Russian. My intention is to be able to recreate the battles starting from the initial real situation and then developing them according to the initial plans and then evolve according to the fate of the dice. I'm writing a regulation, based on regulations wargame but with the addition of rules to simulate reality. For example the difference in focus between regiments of different sizes, the crossing of plowed fields which slows the gears, the different outcome of artillery according to rating etc. Here the link to my site where every week I present the new creations. napoleon6mm.blogspot.it Here the link to the post where I present the "conflict simulation" to which I intend to approach link Here's an example link What do you think? Do you recommend? Thank You Marco |

Might I recommend that if your aim is to refight specific historical battles that you use that as your starting point and create the forces required for each battle you refight in turn? |
Marcus Henry de Graya | 08 Jan 2015 5:14 a.m. PST |
For Green Tiger Yes, exactly. My objective is just to recreate the battles, then use exactly the drives in the real one. For FreddBloggs Yes, every day :-) |

So if my Google translation of your pages is correct, you are using Napoleon's Battles for this project? I would have thought something a little more generic and fast play. Also, Google Italian seems a bit odd. Just before the first picture of the troops (of your current blog entry) it says: "Below are some images that illustrate the sideburns created". What is that supposed to say? I looked closely at the pictures and it did not look like you were painting sideburns on the troops. So, how many troops do you paint per night? What is your approximate completion date for painting. If you are 10% of the way there, I could see this taking awhile. Of course, 31K is doable. Here is an article about a guy who did 250K of 6mm troops. link |

hallo Marcus, Looks already very good. 31k 6mm is not a big unrealistic, but it might be a first step to start with Leipzig and than go further. You can play most battle of the napoleonic age with the armies of. Leipzig. We will publish a game this year which can cope with solobattles of this dimension. Already playtested the Jena Auerstedt and Brienne /La Rothiere with 1/150 ratio which works perfect in one day. PM me for further infos. greetings |

For Dale Hurtt, In the first part of the my post I present the unit that I painted: regiment, battalion of infantry/cavalry or battery of artillery. Then in the second part of the post I present some pictures of the unit. The translation is correct. But it is strange that the Italian. The phrase means: following the work produced. I publish a post for each unit that I create. If the same week create 2 units, for example of British infantry, meet together, of course. The production of thumbnails can reach 100 a week (I can work only in the evening), but also by painting buildings etc sometimes production is lower. Cheers, Marco |

You also need to bear in mind how much table space you have. there is no point painting hundreds of units for a battle if you can't accommodate it. For my own project I had to go brigade level with only 16 figures (1/72) representing a brigade which seemed a little tokenistic when I started but even that can get a little cramped for larger battles on my 8'x6' table (oh and it took 20 years) |

Marco, Been enjoying catching up on your blog. A great body of work. I cannot seem to find the "follow" button. I blame my poor command of Italian. By "poor" I mean the only words I know are Neapolitan dialect that filtered down through my grand parents : ) Bob |

For dbander123 and GreenTiger. Tanks. For MC LeSingleDew It's not that you have not found the "followers". is that I have not put. Thanks idea. Tomorrow I add it. But if you want the right I put the "translator" ….. |

For MC LeSingeDew Now I remember. MC Search on the right of my blog and find the labels of the post. If you select "Army: Napoli" will see the unity of the Kingdom of Naples where they came from your grandparents. Cheers, Marco |
