What are your favorite ways to hold/transport miniatures that have flames of war bases? I have about 70 6mm ork vehicles on flames of war command bases. I am trying to figure out the best solution for storage and transport. |

Probably a GW, or similar case. I don't use the FoW bases anymore because they are a PITA to transport. I just put all of my stuff on the equivalent sized bases from Wargames Accessories. |

I use wargames accessory bases and make my own cases using magnetic strips and a plastic craft case from Walmart with epoxy to hold the strips in place. Metallic strips are $.99 USD and the case is like $3. USD The epoxy is the most expensive piece. Plus the cases I buy can also be used for 28mm as well… If I was just doing 15mm I would use the same method with fishing tackle box flats… Just my two cents |

You can also use carpet tape to put the magnetic sheets down on cardboard boxes. Much cheaper. |

Magnetic sheets with foam core to stiffen it, then all bases get metal under them, no matter what the original base was. of course it does add a bit of height, but not that much. Am half way through all my FOW type bases right now, ran out of metal. Will do all my Robotech tactics the same way, use the plastic bases that came with them, th4en put metal under that. I got very tired of a traffic problem messing up minis. Owen |

I have magnetic strips on the base of all my FoW bases and transport them in a metal tool box. |

One of these: link Each tray holds 15 medium + 4 small bases, or 12 medium tanks, or 9 Panthers, or some other combination of things. Need a good one since I live in Suzhou but play in Shanghai. |

Another vote for KR….having a stock of GW cases I get the ones KR do to fit them, and choose the pick and pluck trays for large / large based figures, so these would be suitable for 15mm FOW style stuff I'd guess. The foam plucked out, can then be used to further"customise" the pockets and reduce movement within the trays. The KR card cases are also fairly robust (I have a few), and my mates have loads of them. HTH |

I use nothing but Army Transport foam and cases. They have worked really well for me for over ten years. I think they are one of the best investments i ever made to protect my mini's. |

I'm with rhacelt. I've been using Sabol cases for transport & storing in Sabol trays for years after messing with tackle boxes, magnetic trays and such. I've been moving every few years and being able to stack those trays in a movers box is a huge time saver compared to the tedious work of packing them up when I had them on magnetized trays or in tackle boxes. Most FOW models fit in the standard 1" tray and there's not a lot of wasted space because of the base size. |

I use cardboard boxes. Lined with sheet magnet. Then apply sheet magnet to the base (trim with scissors). Works a treat even with heavy 15mm metal tanks. |

Yes JT, KR are very helpful on the phone. I was watching one of their FOW boxes on Ebay. Just then it disappeared as someone bought it. I'd been humming and harring about the type and number of each tray type in the box, so I phoned them up and enquired when it would be relisted, and could I change the mix of trays in the box? A nice guy called Chris (I think?) said, yes, I could change the tray mix, and promptly sent me an invoice via email (within a minute or two!), which I paid. Quick, painless and very helpful, he even suggested a different code for one of the (slightly thicker)trays to avoid any 'gash' space in the box. I look forward to it's arrival, and if it's as good as JT says, then I think I'll be having a few more. |
