Looks nice! I really like the weathering effects … "factory fresh" models just don't have the same character.

BTW your Sherman is an M4A3, not an M4. Since you provided the details on the Stuart (M5A1), I thought you might like to have the same level of detail on the Sherman. Visual IDs are the front slope, rear engine deck and most particularly the lower rear hull. The M4 didn't get the single-angle glacis plate shown in the model -- that was used for late war wet-stowage M4A2s, A3s and A4s. The M4 had a pronounced overhang of the upper hull over the lower hull, with two doors for engine access in the lower rear hull. The louvered grill on the lower hull rear, as so clearly shown in your pics, was characteristic of the M4A3.

Also you mentioned it came with the option of the 76mm gun. No M4 was ever provided with that option, only the M4A1, M4A2 and M4A3 ever got the 76mm. On the other hand only the M4 and M4A3 ever got the 105mm. So if, as you said, you had the option of both the 105 and the 76 (in addition to the 75mm), well it better be an M4A3.

Or so I understand.

It is indeed an M4A3, as marked on the box the kit came in. I just forgot to put it in the post!

Thanks

Note on the M4 hull. The M4 indeed get the "big hatch" hull with the "single angle" gacis plate, but only in the form of the M4(105). Also to note about the 76mm turret, only "wet stowage" Shermans were issued to units with this armament, no "dry stowage" Shermans.

Damon.

Does anyone make a model of the M4 with the cast, rounded hull in 28mm?
