What is up with the posing of female miniatures? I know that having a spear(sword, chainsaw, etc) held behind the back with both hands exaggerates the cleavage. However, why are so many female figures knock-kneed? This is a really good sculpt and excellent paint job, but the posing of the legs really ruins it for me.

Makes them look like they need to pee.

"However, why are so many female figures knock-kneed?"

I *think* it is a carry over affectation from anime, as is the little girl plus eroticism mix you see from time to time. There is some good anime, but much of it is cloying at first contact. The knock knees certainly weaken this vignette.

I'd like to call this piece "Singing opera on the way to the toilet".

Thanks for your explanation, Intrepide! I still think it looks stupid, but at least I understand the origin of the pose.

jpattern206 Jan 2015 6:51 p.m. PST

Yes, it's called infantilization, and it's stupid at best.

In this figure, the knock-kneed pose is also just bad. It ruins an otherwise interesting pose, making the figure look awkward and clumsy rather than commanding and powerful. It's almost as if two different sculpts have been added together to make a very poor whole.
The decision to paint on sheer stockings makes it even worse.

Otherwise, the paint job is nicely done, the facial expression is excellent, and the skeletons climbing the pith are terrific. Shame about the legs.

Nice paint job, but the miniature makes me think of a dominatrix Snow White! huh?

great job on the sheer clothing…

"pith" Gaah… I meant plinth, of course.

So what is the point of posting on the NSFW board when you then CROSSPOST it to other boards?

I wonder how long each morning it takes her to get her hair, eye shadow and lips just right to match her outfit. Maybe she has a spell: "ili beanie, chili beanie, the makeover has to match!" POOF! Wish the wife did.
