I have been doing more reading about the Battle of Trenton today and decided that the table needed to be rotated 90 degrees to the left so as to allow for the approach marches of Sullivan's and Washington's sections of the army.
Click on the link below to see how I have revised the table top terrain for the Trenton scenario: link
As before, all terrain was made by Herb Gundt, other than the winter mat, which was made by The Terrain Guy. All figures are from the Fife & Drum range (Continentals) and the Minden SYW Prussian range (filling in as Hessions). |

Yes, the room is in awful shape. I either need to clean up or get Photoshop. Probably both would be a good idea. That is my next project while I work on the game mechanics. |

This has given me an idea for a sneaky twist to a scenario run by an umpire. Invite the attacking team into the war-games room before the game. Allow them to take notes / draw maps of the terrain features and objectives. Send them out again to devise their attack plan / to allow the defenders to place their troops. Then subtly change the terrain about! How's that for simulating faulty reconnaissance! |

One of the catch phrase for our mapped scenario games is "The only thing more dangerous than a 2nd Lieutenant with a map and compass is the 2nd Lieutenant that drew it up." |
