After really enjoying a few games of Warmachine and Hordes using Mk1 rules and cards over the Christmas break I'm thinking of getting some new models. These of course will have MkII stat cards. So here comes the choices: 1. Should I stick with Mk1 and just amend the stat cards for the new models with the info from my Mk 1 books (I have all the Mk1 WM and Hordes books). Cheapest option but if I want any of the post Mk 1 models I'll have to tweak abilities and points. 2. Do I go "Hybrid" and change to Mk II stat cards for everything but still use Mk 1 rules (apart from points values of course)? Is this actually feasible from a rules perspective. 3. Do I get the Mk II rules and faction decks and say goodbye to Mk 1? This will obviously cost more and I don't really want to spend out for all the books – I have 2 WM and 3 Hordes forces with another possibly on the way. And a couple of questions for those in the know: What's the deal with the faction decks? They seem as rare as rocking horse manure. And what did people do with their Mk1 cards? Thanks for your thoughts |

You don't need all of the Mark II books, just the faction card decks, which is what I'd recommend. The decks are getting rarer, since they were originally created just for this purpose (update from Mark I to Mark II), and most people did that awhile ago. ;) -Will |

depending on how much you have, you can order the cards through their online-shop. I torrented mine and just printed out new cards since only had like 3-400 points for my stuff in the old rules. So a faction deck was bit much. |

Thanks for the replies, I'll look into both options. Yeah I realise that I'm well behind everyone else with this. I fell out of love with WM when MkII was released and it coincided with a lot of upheaval like redundancy and crap jobs hence the long hiatus |
