I rather like this guy's idea for an artillery park.

I am thinking of doing something similar for my 1967 Egyptians with the Fate of Nations FoW supplement. But a full unit is 18 guns! Anyone have ideas on where to get 18 guns cheap? I really don't care about crew.

Irregular Miniatures Really Useful Guns are a dirt cheap "large 15mm" range. I don't think they have any post-WWII types, but they have a bunch of WWII Soviet types, some of which I presume could fit the bill….

Have had a look and the 122mm M1938 for three quid looks the most likely suspect. (Pity they didn't use 76s, as those are £1.50 GBP…)

Ooh, I'm not sure if the 85mm D-44 is any good – if so that looks a winner on cost….

Very nice, need to check out that site some more. But even at £3.00 GBP (or about $4.50 USD USD) it gets costly fast.

I am not 100% concerned that they be huge 155mm beasts, just something with a big barrel and gun shield would be nice.

Old Glory has a couple options that work out to about $3.60 USD each with discount.

Perhaps I am just too cheap :)

(actually the 76.2mm model. 1941 Zis-3 looks very promising!)

I'd just use off-board artillery rules myself. 18 large bases on a desert board may be a bit too viusually glarring for me.

But another very cheap "on board" option might be Gaming Models

The best thing about Greg at Gaming Models is that he will add to the range if what you are looking for is not there.

Good luck, VB

Very true with Craig. He's actually just finished working on German 15cm artillery and is working on 25 pounders and 17 pounders at the moment.

I just ordered for myself some stuff to finish off my Adepticon Italians and then some other random things.

Ooops..sorry I confused "Greg" with "Craig!"

I have done some WWII German guns like this …

I just bought appropriate barrels from the Irregular range linked above.

It was quite inexpensive … Irregular will sell you as much or as little of the gun as you want (well they will at a show, anyway …) …
