Bununu, Nigeria (NAFP) – An attack on a water purification plant in a village near the Nigerian town of Bununu on Saturday has resulted in the capture of three members of the terrorist organization known as the Combined Army. The attackers were successful in their mission of poisoning the plant which then resulted in the poison leaking into the Gongola River, a source of water for thousands of people in Nigeria.

The unknown substance placed into the return system of the last plant in the series has sickened hundreds already, Nigerian Health Minister Olajidae Iweala said.
A Chinese military station reported the group crossing the Barrier Wall into the Chinese controlled territory. The Chinese military in conjunction with local Nigerian security forces were able to close in on the band and engage them at the town of Bununu, said Chinese Military Spokesman Rengan Hong.
"The terrorist force moved into the village just as a patrol entered it from the other end," Hong said, "we didn't know what their object was so our forces moved in cautiously despite the small number of terrorists."
"In addition to our ground forces we also had an airborne detachment," Hong said.
Local residents witness some of the fighting. Farmer Onyebuchi Konjo said that one of the Chinese special forces soldiers took up a position in his home and engaged the aliens as soon as they were passing by.

"My home was badly damaged in the fighting," Konjo said, "When the sniper shot at the aliens they returned fire and she was killed, the upstairs of my house is destroyed now and the Chinese will not let us back in while they examine the scene."

Many in the small rural village saw the fighting and were not afraid to talk to reporters.
Another farmer, Adebiyi Okungoku said he witnessed much of the attack from his home.
"When the terrorists moved past us they had left behind two of their drone-worms. These were
destroyed when some of the Chinese forces dropped in in the aliens wake," Okungoku said.

"I saw the soldiers move up then to engage the aliens but one was killed when the advanced on the big alien
and I saw the other soldier try to sneak past the Konjo house to attack them but one of the aliens jumped the
river and shot him first. I believe that man lived," he added.

Chinese authorities refused to comment on details of the fighting. Hong was willing to point out the heroic actions of one of their Zhanshi soldiers and credited the capture of the entire Combined Army force to this one soldier.
"Corporal Li Zichu took actions into his own hands," Hong said, "His squad had been pinned down by intense enemy fire but he bravely charged after them and managed to capture the entire force by himself."

Chinese casualties were relatively heavy for the size of the force engaged. Three soldiers were reported killed and two more were seriously wounded. In addition to the three terrorists captured, one was killed and a small TAG was destroyed in the fighting. Two of their drones were damaged in the fighting as well.

It is unknown where the terrorists have been taken at this point.
The Nigerian Health Ministry has issued a warning to all people along the Gongola River and near Lake Dadin Kowa to refrain from drinking or touching the water until further notice. Water supplies are being organized by the Chinese military at the time of this report.
