I am doing a campaign on my blog in the Star Wars universe. It is loosely based on the old WEG module Flashpoint at Brak Sector. The overview and first small battle are now posted.

I will be using Bablyon 5 Wars for smaller fights and Full Thrust for larger battles. This first battle was with B5Wars.

This fight never could have been won by the Imperials because it was meant to be unbalanced. Their only victory could have been to cause heavy casualties.

It has been suggested this is a failure of most 'campaign' systems, that people will only fight balanced confrontations.

Do you think asymmetric battles can still be enjoyed, 'with reasons?'

I see the use of 'intel' from VBAM; what else will you be using?

Love the 'fold' psuedo-3D map; makes me want to get some toothpicks and 3D some beads.

Can hardly wait for some of those BIG battles!

Nice campaign AAR so far! What models you used for the SW ships? Look forward to seeing more on this campaign.

The shuttles & freighters were from Utar Ships. link

Great guy to deal with, and great figures. I did something I usually don't do. I played with unpainted ships(the freighters!)

The fighters are all from Studio Bergstrom. link

Originally, I bought these from a guy in England that had crafted these, but Studio Berstrom appears to have bought the molds (or it was Studio Bergstrom before they were Studio Bergstrom)

I am using intel and loyalty/morale right now. Still reading through VBAM, so haven't incorporated everything yet. It's kind of hard, because that game is geared towards evenly matched empires, but that wasn't the case with Star Wars.

I love to play unevenly matched games. They work just fine as long as there are objectives that you have that don't involve winning the battle. It takes a little more work to figure them out though.

that don't involve winning the battle.

Or, rather, winning the battle isn't inflicting the most damage. Brother!

You are aware VBAM has a second edition in the works? It's been off and on for sometime, but I'm seeing hopeful signs again.

However, since first announce, breath-holding is contraindicated. Unless, you're a playtester already… ;->=

One of the later books (I think it was the Campaign Moderators book) has rules for 'Underworld Empires' which would work well for Rebel-esque forces.

Anyway, very cool work and I'd love to see more. Which set of Star Wars/B5Wars conversions are you using?

Utar is awesome – had the great fortune to have lunch with him and talk shop, he does great work.

Looks like lots of fun and excellent batrep – hope to see more!
