Happy new year everyone. I've just finished uploading a new and lavishly illustrated after action report on a 20mm 1914 game we played using GWSH II called 'Attack in the east 1914'.

I've concluded the AAR with some musings on infantry tactics and their application in the GWSH environment. These principles are well illustrated I hope in the game and the AAR.

There is also a fantastic new resource ( I think) .. a translation of a piece of the German Infantry Regiment Nr 88 official history with details of their part in the Battle at Longlier in 1914. This is of course one of the scenarios in the new scenario supplement. I included this because it illustrates the tactical approach employed by infantry at this time, and the approach that I try to model in my game play (again, see the AAR)

Many thanks to Robert Dunlop for the translation.

Hopefully this is of interest to one or two of you.

Go to

The Great Adventure

wargaming.org.nz

and look under After Action Reports, or What's New. The page on infantry tactics can be fund under 'Special Features' if you prefer to go straight there.

Kind regards
Robin

Good stuff; but actually the infantry tactics is in the news, not in the special f.

Very nice AAR Robin thanks for posting up!

Great summation of how the system works to historic use of tactics.
