"Publishing giant HarperCollins has been criticised for omitting Israel from an atlas. The country is not labelled on the map – bought by English-speaking schools in the majority-Muslim Gulf, while Gaza and Jordan are clearly marked. Collins Bartholomew, the subsidiary of HarperCollins, told The Tablet that including Israel would have been 'unacceptable' to their customers in the Gulf and the amendment incorporated 'local preferences'…"

If I can't see it, it doesn't exit. Well it works for ostriches. LOL! |

Gotta love the efforts PC people go to, in order to change the world's view of things. I find the omission of Palestine, shocking, myself! Seems like they are learning from others, that if you say a lie enough times, people will eventually believe it, and/or if you omit the truth enough, no one will know about it. Saul Alinsky would be proud. |

They're doing it to sell more copies; it reflects badly more on the purchasers than on Harper-Collins. The customer is always right, as long as his money's good. If he want's milk-fed snails on his filet mignon, give him snails. Also, whenever I hear the name Saul Alinsky, my mind substitutes "Emmanuel Goldstein," for some reason. |

Reminds me of Shultz from Hogan's Heroes. "I see nothing! I know nothing!" |

No not in a million years MHoxie. NEVER AGAIN. I for one will remember HarperCollins and subsidiary Collins Bartholomew and even if it runs to one teeny tiny book I will look elsewhere. This article will make me look and I hope others to boycott this county. |

Sorry, Harper-Collins/Collins Bartholomew ARE more than 50% of the problem, since they are producing this drivel. |

@ Mako11 What is the history of Palestine? |
Mako11 | 02 Jan 2015 6:23 p.m. PST |
Exactly, Tony. Heavy sarcasm was intended. If you are going to try to appease the locals, might as well go all in to really get on their good side. Interestingly, now the company is saying it was an oversight, and mistake. I suspect they are getting a lot of heat from others who know the truth, and don't like their monkeying with the facts. |
