Mars Miniatures31 Dec 2014 5:05 p.m. PST

Been a busy month for me, painting wise, lots of 10mm I am trying to wade through. So this time, I show off my Spanish/Italian buildings from Total Battle Miniatures. Which again, I am using as Gondorian villagery. Ive got some dragons from Reaper Miniatures, which are actually baby dragons in 28mm, but make nice large ones if you use them for 10mm. Ive got a red one, green, blue, and a basilisk. The basilisk can substitute for the Middle Earthian – cave drakes, which are wingless dragons, fabled to live in the far north. Oh, also I have a Balrog, which is actually an imp, again from Reaper. But all the rest below in the pics, the orcs, nazguls, wargs, trolls, etc… are from Copplestone. The broken ruined burned earth terrain, are Zuzzy mats which I cut up into geomorphic shapes. I use them to delineate ruins, badlands, rough terrain. And for those who have asked me and will ask in the future… my green terrain mat is an army wool blanket. It is very thick and heavy and takes stippled paint well in layers. My forest/tilled farm/fallow fields terrain is made of the same material glued unto bases, and which have built up hedges made with Woodland Scenic foliage and z scale (or is it n scale?) trees stuck down into them. I prefer tree lines than actual forest in my games… except for the occasional wooded hill or two.

Good call on the Reaper imp for a Balrog. Now I have to get one.

FABET01,
What I really need is a "not Sauron".
I have yet to see one that I like.

Also, BTW, the Reaper blister comes with 3 poses, its a great deal. I still have to paint the other two.

Mars,

How about the figure center right from Splintered Light:

The other figs in the pic are a bit taller than 15mm

svsavory, Steve W,
Thanks fellas!

FABET01,
Yes, that mini is on my list, along with the ents that splintered light makes. I also want to see the one that Khurasan makes, the Great enemy, or deceiver, or something. I will get both at some point, maybe I will grow to love them when I have them in hand. If only it were possible to shrink the LOTR SBG one done in size somehow.

You should maybe have a look at Eureka's 10mm line you might find something there

Mars Miniatures01 Jan 2015 12:19 p.m. PST

Steve W,

I have gone thru the entire Eureka range… and no.
However, I have a long list of things I need to buy there. I really like the Buffalo riders and the wood elves. OH and the beastmen. Ah, Im probably gonna pick up a few blisters of their entire 10mm range, sooner probably than later.
