Third time lucky, everytime I've tried posting its timed out on me so here goes. I picked one of Warlords SS-sturmbataillon Charlemagne figures, bags of character really nice figure. I removed the tricolor badge so he can mix in with my other SS. I've gone for a German grey tunic and Italian pattern camo trousers. As always he's accurate enough for my humble collection. I am no expert in WW2 so I may of made some errors. So have a look link hope its of some help

So thanks for looking cheers Russ

You know, there are times I look at your work and see true art. The above is a good example.

Thank you Combatpainter, I save my best cutting board just for special occasions.

Robby, thank you for your kind words but with comments like that I might start believing I'm actually good at something LoL! My Christine says my head will swell and I won't be able to get threw the door!

I'm not seeing anything at Photobucket.

I'll have to try it on my computer and not the phone tomorrow.

The pic I see looks spot on, though.

vogless, I'm the same I don't always see Photobucket pics posted on here through my phone but no problems on the tablet. I'm not sure what changed but I didn't have any problems untill about a couple of months back.

No problem GrandKenyon84, its always a pleasure. I enjoy doing them it gives me a kick knowing I can give something back to my on line family. TMP is a big part of my life so knowing I can contribute in small way is a real kick for me.

As I've already said there are more to come, so thanks for looking.
Cheers for now Russ

Great work, Russ. What reference do you refer to for camo-patterns?

bracken Supporting Member of TMP02 Jan 2015 11:33 a.m. PST

Thanks Sebastian, main sources are internet and even old copies of military modeling. A good source I've found is some of the military uniform websites, some have really good quality photos to study. Also check out some of the tamiya 1/35 kits. A friend used to make up these kits and I got the empty boxs for some of the artwork, one kit shows variations of summer and autumn camouflage. Its not that difficult to match the colours with the Vallejo range which seem to make painting WW2 stuff really easy.

Thanks Militia Pete, I've got a taste for doing them again. How many more I will do I'm not sure but if anything rears it head I will give it a go.
