I really like your work, Mateus. I also like your choice of figures. The Italeri Napoleonic French infantry have been around for some time, but they're still elegant figures.

I wish you'd stop posting pictures of beautifully painted 1/72 plastic Napoleonic units. You're going to tempt me back into my own 1/72 Napoleonics project and completely derail progress on my other projects…

Those are lovely. I've always liked the realistic proportions of the 1/72 plastics, and your paint jobs really bring them to life. You do amazing work.

I found the tutorial on your blog about how you make the bases. I think it's hilarious that you use actual dirt to simulate miniature dirt.

No complaints though. Your bases look awesome. I'm putting compost on my shopping list. grin

Thanks, guys!

About my basings, hilarious was having people ask me what do I use to make the dirt on my basings look so much like real dirt (!).

Now they know my secret! :-P

Agreed – the black facings are probably the best, followed by dark blue maybe. Really looking good, and always love how you make those old style figures work well.

Me, I am still dreaming of the release of a "correct" uniformed French infantryman – HaT have them, but not released yet (and their older set is, well, a bit basic). I had hopes for the Zvezda promised set, but now they have gone small box that is never going to work for me, so I will keep waiting.

Happy New Year Mateus – here's to lots of updates in 2015
