So this is a weird one for you folks. Building a post-apocalyptic Fallout style airport. This is not a historical recreation obviously, but thematically I am going for that 1950's vibe. This will be in 28mm if it matters. I plan for the planes to be the great silver color for the era, but I have have little like finding about the rest. So what colors would the following items be: large fuel tanks control tower support vehicles (trucks, jeeps, etc) Quonset huts (cheap barracks) radar tower torage buildings and other generic structures I think that's it. On a secondary note, is there anything else above that I did not mention that might be included in the airport. I have the runway and security fencing sorted. Thanks for the help. Joey |

Control tower will probably be white, with a red checkerboard pattern somewhere near the top. Same with other, tall objects near runways. Of course, you could also go with tan, pale yellow, gray, etc. too. |

Well most of the ground vehicles for the era were an Air Force Blue color. Hangers were made of Tin Sheets as well as Quonset huts. so they would most likely would be silver in color. Some hangers were painted white Main buildings would have been made of concrete block or brick so they would have been painted white or tan color for most part, the brick buildings would have stood as is so they would have been brick red. Most other buildings were of wood frame and ply wood covered and would have been painted white, green, tan or that air force blue. White was the most popular color followed by tan of sorts. the idea was that lighter colors reflected light and heat to help keep the buildings cooler no AC in most buildings back then you know. Had to go way back into the memory banks for this one (sniff, sniff) do you smell smoke? |

Lot's of beige/mustard yellow colored buildings in my experience. Older buildings will be yellower than new buildings. Or at least that is what I remember from the number of Navy Air Stations I was stationed at looked like. |

I'm thinking shades of greys for most things since it easier to weather for me, than yellows and white. Still not sure on the vehicle, might go Hollywood and keep those green. |
