Decided to start from the beginning and play through Poland. The Battle of Mokra is one of several that took place on opening day. I made the scenario for FOW based on some online research and we played it on the 75th Anniversary (September 1st) with some House Rules to add some realism.

This is my first attempt at sharing my scenarios and Battle Reports online, so hopefully it will be a success. :)

Looks like you had fun. Great models and terrain. My only regret is that Smialy was camera shy!

Also like your goal of "Gaming World War II beginning to end".

Have a great war, FPR

Thanks guys! Smialy is camera shy because I couldn't bring myself to drop $200 USD on an armoured train for a single battle. (Rivet counters will note that I'm getting by using Russians for my Poles for much the same reason).

By my calculations, I'm not going to make it to Okinawa before my time on this Earth expires, but I'm enjoying Early War too much to skip too far ahead. Perhaps the TMP community can bear witness to my progress.

I've been debating putting the two together in the same report, perhaps I will do that for the second battle.. and I'm trying to figure out how to post a bigger picture on the Board. (It's still a learning process).

Wizbangs,

Armoured trains needn't be expensive. Would you consider using cheap paper models? Google armoured/armored train (paper, card) model. And paper kits cover the rare tanks and afvs and buildings as well.

There are a number of sites that sell paper kits of the Polish trains for around $5 USD-$10. auction will need to be scaled down.

Then there are the free ones. link German ho locomotive. link has a WW1 Czech train (Czechoslovak Legion in Siberia). Need to rescale, add guns and change the paint job.

FPR, I actually bought a paper train but drove myself mad trying to glue together the tube of the locomotive boiler without unsightly creases, wrinkles or the proper sized dowel to wrap it around. Thus, by the time I'd given up on that project I'd had enough of the armored train and moved on.
