"The Weekend" will be holding it's sixth annual convention at the Continental Inn, (across from the Host) on June 25,26, 27th and 28th 2015. It's a smaller convention, but a high quality one. The theme for this year is "The 18th Century" and we have many people who will be hosting events in that period. We have commitments for battles from the Seven Years War in North America, the Carribean, India, and of course Europe, and also a complete table-top campaign which will see forces moving from table to table. We did this mini-campaign three years ago and have reworked it to make it better and more fun. Other periods and battles will be featured, and as always you can expect the unusual and innovative. Last year you may recall Mike Lorenzo put on his huge extravaganza "Frederick the Great Invades Candyland," and Jim McWee Put on two Super-hero and zombie games. We are hoping to have a complete siege game also, though this is still a bit under development. There will be ancient games (Last year we had a Grand "Alesia" Game", SAGA events, Board Games, and the like.

We are reworking the "Off the Table Modeling and the Off the Table Painting Contests. There is a bring and buy table and a Free table, and of course, the ever present signature event of the convention the "Munchie Table" Bring some, eat some, drink some.

The cost for the convention is free provided you take a room at the Continental, and if you prefer another table or are a walk up a donation of $10 USD is asked. You can donate more if you wish, we'll spend it on munchies.

The convention is fixated on gamers, games, fun, friendship, food, fellowship and having fun. We don't have a dealer area because many of our friends are dealers and we like to give them a chance to play. You can make orders with dealers though and pick them up at the convention, of course, if the dealer is coming. There are also excursions for the wives and girlfriends who come to the local shopping centers, local outletterys and stores of the Amish persuasion, antiquing etc.

The convention begins on Thursday evening with our kick-off dinner, and continues gaming on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday we all have a breakfast early and depart for home after some last socializing.

We have a 5,000 ft ballroom and lots of space, and lots of games. Board Games are often found and pick up games as well.

The convention began five years ago as an "invitation only" event, but it was never exclusive. All you have to do to get an invitation is ask for one and it will be gladly extended. The convention publishes a 48 page full color booklet giving a battle report of each game at the con, after the convention, and during the year four newsletters are published every other month telling you what games are new, updates to the schedule and events, and so forth.

If you wish to be put on the mailing list and receive an invite to "The Weekend" just send me your postal delivery address by e-mailing me at sigurd@eclipse.net. If you would like copies of our last five after-action reports we off them at a cost of $1.00 USD each.

Well, I'd better get in contact with George and start pooling Germans and Russian's together for that "Battle of Gumbinnen 1914" game he was planning.

OOPS! Made a mistake!

"THE WEEKEND" is being held on the 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st of June, not the 25th to 28th. I though it was the last weekend in June, but I checked the dates, and it's the 19th. Sorry for the kerfuffle.
