"What will be your New Year's Gaming Resolution" Topic

I'm going to work on building my gaming table, and new terrain boards, painting more figures.

Plus get a couple more rule books that have come out as well. :D

Paint more than I buy. My problem is not buying figures than the company goes out of business. So I stock pile figures ,I might someday paint.

I know that problem, Need to buy more as well.

Finishing two sets of terrain for Bolt Action. I play at two stores regularly that have little 28mm terrain that isn't GrimDark(tm). I have little space for storage at my apartment so my goal is to actually make enough terrain to leave at both stores so I can just bring my minis. One store is an hour south of me, the other is almost two hours north.

To enjoy more the positive aspects of the hobby and be more relaxed.

Being a firm believer in traditions I will resolve to paint more than I buy since this has been my resolution for the last decade at least. And also not to start any new armies/periods.
I'm well on the way to achieving this with the new WWII German Army I just ordered from Black Tree:-)

To convince online vendors that waving great sales in front of us days before Santa arrives, is NOT the best time of the year to get money from us. Offer us these deals on Bastille Day. Send me coupons for my birthday. But PLEASE stop trying to get me to shop for myself the one time of the year when my budget is supposed to be directed toward others!

2. Build some terrain for microarmor
3. Finish at least two painting projects.

No more resolutions.

I got DBA 3.0, HOTT 2.1 and D&D 5.0 for chrissie so I plan to give each of these a good going over.

I will also hope to receive Reaper Bones II so I'll be painting like a fury and I've started playing Mantic's Kings of War.

Looks like I've got quite a bit of gaming to do in 2015 :-)

IF I made one, it would be to game more. Most of the hobby for me this year has been hanging out on TMP.

Hopefully I will finish my AWI Continentals, and get my Saga Normans and Peninsula British started.

Finish my Vikings. I've resolved to do this for the past three years. I will finish it this year 8>)

To bring Flames of Liberty to the market, to sell thousands of copies at $100 USD and retire.

Built & paint my Rorke's Drift buildings(that I got 2 years ago), all those beautiful Empress 17th Lancers, a ton of Boers and even more Zulus. Then there's the Pathans. Next, paint my primed WW1 French,Brits & Germans. Built & paint one F17, 2 Stug's & a couple Opal trucks. Then there's my primed Warlord plastic WW2 Siberian Russian guys along with the "Cross of Iron Steiner" set(very cool)along with various other conversions I made outta a bunch of parts, make some terrain, uhhh, then, I, err, ummm… I'm tired already

Tidy up the game room, inventory figs, prioritize and paint.

Not so much a resolution as a goal. I want to sell off enough of my horde of gaming treasures, before the end of 2015, to make a one complete monthly payment on my house. Currently, that is at $1,389.16 USD . So I need to average just under $116 USD for each of the next 12 months to reach my goal. I'm off to a good start, I think, netting roughly $110 USD in sales here on the TMP marketplace since yesterday, the 28th. Thanks to those that bought some of my "surplus" items or will do so in the future! Still a long way to go yet, so stop by the ol' TMP Marketplace and check out my listing. 2014 was a good year for gaming so keep that going into 2015

Play more Pulp Alley games, because I really like these rules; try to get my TS&TF Jacobite Rebellion variant to a wider audience; finish some stalled-out projects (I know what they are!); reorganize my War Room for greatest efficiency and economy; complete planned work on Tarzan's loyal Waziri; finish my complete Watchmen figures collection; and build those roads and city-scapes from all those Sarissa products I bought two years ago!

Not really a firm resolution, per se, but hope to do a bit more painting, and gaming next year.

(1) To finally finish my terrain lay-out for the 1879 Second Afghan War battle of Charasiab, hopefully in time for the anniversary of the battle on October 6th -- including the last-minute addition of a 2'x4' terrain-board featuring a dug-in swamp, in place of what I'd originally planned to be a standard tabletop terrain piece. I figure after building 2 dug-out river boards I might as well build a dug-out swamp to go with them.

(2) To raise a last couple units -- 92nd Highlanders and 14th Bengal Lancers (Murray's Jats) -- for the battle, so I won't have to substitute similar but not quite right units in their place, and finish up a couple of conversions for the battle, including Amir Yaqub Khan as an "honored guest" in the British camp, under guard by Highlander & Gurkha sentries.

(3) Get some help from my friends and DO A LOT OF PLAY-TESTING so the Charasiab scenario is in good shape before I hopefully manage to bring it to the fifth annual "Colonial Barracks" TSATF convention in New Orleans in November 2015.

1) Get back to miniature gaming after a year-long (or so) hiatus.

2) Build and paint enough terrain for a whole 100cm by 100cm "ruined city" table.

3) Prep several warbands for 5 Parsecs from Home game.

4) Start playing 5 Parsecs from Home.

…

5) Profit!

To start and finish my long on hold Westeros Saga project.

To make anything I plan in advance small and achievable,
to make my plans so that I look forward to them,
never stop having fun because you have planned otherwise.

Paint, then paint, then paint. When I die in 30 years, if I don't buy another figure, my wife will still say "Why did he have all of these unpainted figures?"

Re-start painting my ACW Union army.

read more – try to wade through the brilliant but unread stuff that I have accumulated on my Kindle.

More gaming this year.

Paint regularly to reduce the lead and plastic mountain.

Sell of the stuff I know I'll never use.

I'm looking to paint at least 20 regiments of 15mm ACW Cavalry, including dismounted troops. Also, put together a modular terrain table with roads, rivers and streams cut into the board.

Clear my computer desktop by finishing writing up the scenarios in notes and figures on it. Which, of course, means lots more playtesting! :)

1a) Paint more. This was a successful 2014 pledge owing to a new, stable man-cave and to making browsing TMP a reward for, rather than distraction from, painting. I hope to do better again.

1b) Finish those fantasy bandits, finish those undead Spanish marines and finish those ghost elves, as well as a couple of other projects listed in a dummy-spit here some months back.

2) Rather than buy less, buy nothing. I managed it in 2013, but 2014 was a pitiful failure. As the second poster says, ranges go out of print if you don't buy, but truly, I've got enough to paint for one lifetime.

3) After the first two items of 1b are achieved, join the local club.

Finish my NI army by January 31st. Build a game room.

I must finish at least one Project – ha! that'll be the day lol

I must sell off unused, unpainted and unwanted minis – ha!

I must NOT buy anymore minis not related to ongoing Projects – I maybe able to do this

I must not start anymore Projects, especially as finances will be tight in 2015

My resolution is Not to make any resolutions …

Put the running trauma of my thesis behind me with some judicious painting of many and sundry projects, continue to work to bring Silent Death back to the masses, and just generally enjoy my accumulated hoard rather than merely stare at it and sigh wistfully every once in a while.

Prioritize figures, paint more, sell enough of the excess to make my collection reasonable for gaming, with fewer figures for "cool" factor. Also, stop buying a great looking figure solely because it is great looking.

1. Clean up my gaming room, go through all those "boxes" and sell off what I'm never going to get to

2. Rebase my entire 15mm Napoleonic Collection for Black Powder (1 stand per battalion) and start gaming with them

3. Paint my 28mm Roman / Celt armies

4. Paint my 28mm Austrian Nap Army

5. Build a new gaming table

Get more figures painted than I buy.

This may be a problem as I have about 1300 figures to come from the War & Empire kickstarter.

Build a complete set for wargaming using Neil Thomas' One Hour Wargames Rules. That's gonna be two medieval armies in 6mm, 10 4-inch by 4-inch bases each, with maybe an undead look to one of them for the boy. This is a whole new scale for me, so it's a whole new box and a whole new batch of fun.

Also, not buy any more 15mm sci-fi figures until I get the ones in the lead pile cleared out. I was a good boy in 2014, keeping the lead pile down to less than a pound – gotta keep the streak alive.

My gaming resolutions for 2015 are:

-paint 2,000 point Epic armies for Orks, Eldar, and Imperial Guard.

-Complete the ACW campaign I've been playing using the Longstreet rules.

-Complete a proto-type of the Space Fleet Game I have been fiddling with that used a command & colors type mechanic.

-Play more games.

Getting closer to finish my Russian Army and more gaming.

Organize miniatures in storage. Finish game tabletop design I have in mind. Store desert city and forest terrain…..put together tree stands. Paint something.
