I held my annual naval mini-campaign on Saturday. This year's game covered the 1340 naval campaign in the English Channel. Historically this campaign resulted in the Battle of Sluys, where the French were decisively defeated. The mini-campaign was designed to provide lots of times to make decisions,
some battles,
and we even had some appropriately themed snacks for the game.
The game was very close, until the weather intervened, and then … Well, you can read all about it in my blog post: link It was a fun game and good to have friends over for the day. Dave S. seanavalgazing.blogspot.com |

That's awesome. I've wanted to poke at cogs for a while, I'm looking forward to studying the blog entry… |

Very cool Dave. Are these the rules that are a spin off of DBA? I have a wargaming magazine around here somewhere that has some unpublished rules in it covering the battle of Sluys. They were a variant of DBA. If these are not them, are they available somewhere? I have a bunch of cogs and need a reason to paint them up. Thanks – Allen |

Allen, The rules are DBAish. These are an unpublished version of David Manley's rules, but I believe he had printed an earlier version for a wargame magazine. The unpublished version I have has the campaign rules, along with the fleet and tactical level rules. Dave |

Yes, the very early version appeared in print some years ago. What Dave S has is the heavily revised and expanded version. If life had been a bit less hectic and nightmarish over the last few months they'd have been published by now. Looking at Q2 2015 for a publication date now (if poss.) |
