So, just started my 1/1200 Napoleonic fleet after a long lay off. Did a British 38 gunner now just finished a 40 gunner. Some friends asked me to take some pictures on how I built her, so here they are, hope you like them. Warning….Pic heavy. So, Hull and masts painted and masts fitted, base covered with plaster, [URL=http://s809.photobucket.com/user/heavytrack_photos/media/002_zps78cf58a3.jpg.html]

Beautiful work Mike. You make bases just like I do. I will let folks know over on the Napoleonic Naval Discussion Board that you are posting your work over here. The more that get to see it the better.:-) |

Hi Mike, Your work is cool. I love it. You are one up on me. You have got photos up on this site. I can not do that as yet. So I must hate you a little. For your computer skills and a little bit for your painting. I have always put the sails on frist then the rigging. I love your standing rigging. Your running rigging is a little off, but love the clean lines. For the frist time in 2 plus years it is very good. Keep modelling I wish to see more of your work. Vol, Thanks for pointing this thread out to us. Be safe Rory |

Thanks doc, I tried the sails on first approach and found it was more difficult. As for the running rigging, well these models are going to be wargamed with and so its more for 'show' than accuracy, I could follow Rod Langton's instructions for the running rigging but it would add too much time on for each model and I'd be too old to see or care lol! So, as long as they look the part I'm happy. Thanks for the kind comments, starting a French frigate now, then moving on to Agamemnon. Mike |

Hi Mike, I look foreword to seeing your French frigate. It is nice to see rigging. I did not wish to be a party-pooper or an anorak about your rigging. Just tiring to be helpful. Be safe Rory P.S. I must try and do photos on this site. |

Hi doc, no offence taken my friend, If I was doing them for display then yes I'd take more time on the running rigging, but as I said they're for wargaming and I have another 8 ships to do, so compromise is the order of the day. And yes would love to see your photo's Rory if I can figure this computer voodoo out any one can. All the best, Mike |

Hi Mike, Vol has tired to help me with this hang-up I have with computers. Which doll do you use to put the pins in? Be safe Rory |
williamtheconker | 29 Dec 2014 9:43 a.m. PST |
Hi Doc, re the pictures, I put mine on the computer, then download to photobucket then copy & paste, its the only way I know lol! Sorry, I don't understand your question, doll and pins, are you on about how I drill the ship for the thread> Mike |
Volunteer | 29 Dec 2014 12:33 p.m. PST |
I think Rory was referring to the "Voodoo" comment regarding the doll and pins. |

HaHaha I understand, sorry having a slow day! trust me, I was the same for ages and then someone gave me talk through, I wrote it down and hey bingo! It can be very frustrating though. Hope Rory figures it out, thanks for the explanation Vol. Mike |

See Mike, I told you I'm no good at computer stuff. I cannot get you to understand me!!!!!!!!! What would I do without you Vol! Be safe and good luck with the next 8 ships Rory |
