you can change the location of your kindle to be in the UK, buy the books, & then switch it back.

That's what I did myself to buy IHMN.

Aren't prices set by the manufacturer?

In MSRP, S is 'suggested'; you have to have contracts with all distributors if you try to lock a price. GW is the only one I'm aware of being even close to successful.

Interestingly, there are 'price fixing' issues, as well.

Sorry, as I never do Kindle, only part of the conversation I could join.
