y son. In Return of the Jedi Hans and Chewiee fly a Lambada Shuttle onto the Moon of Endor.

Can Rebels use the Lambada Shuttle? A level 2 shuttle with Chewbacca and Luke Skywalker upgrades?

Yes, why not if only for the example you mentioned. Also, I didn't see any E-Wings or Tie-Defenders in the movies either, so yes, anything goes in FFG's universe.

Love the idea of a Lambada shuttle

Guess boggler got it right about the "Lambada" shuttle:

In the RAW (Rules as Written) Rebels cannot use the Shuttle. But who is to say you can't in your own game?
As an Empire player I don't like the shuttle, why would the rebels what to use it. The rebels have all the cool big ships already. YT-1300 and the 2400.

WOW so many typos. Sorry for them.
The OP should have read something like :"Have a debate with my son…."
And it should be referring to the Lambda Shuttle. I'm not too keen on it. One of the fellows at the club calls it "The Cow". (But has 2 of them)
Then again it IS a shuttle, not a fighter or a tricked out freighter. I always thought it would be like taking a school bus on a Car rally.

Could someone point me to the section of the rules which say "Imperials only."
Thanks.

"Imperials only."
Page 3 basic rules
"Each player chooses a faction"

You can tell a faction by the card or maneuver dial.
Each has a faction symbol on them.

Each ship has 4 different pilots for a ship. All pilots for the shuttle are imperials. Chewie and Han can only be assigned to rebel ships the YT-1300 to be specific.

Have you played the game before?
We are talking about X-wing miniatures from Fantasy Flight Games.

In RotJ, Han may fly the shuttle to the Ewok moon, but he doesn't fly it in combat; it's just used for a covert insertion under "false colors" as it were. So In the X-Wing game, the answer remains "no" as the Rebels don't use Lamda shuttles as combat craft.

The shuttle is a "cow," but it offers some big C&C benefits to the Imps, and its ability "park" for a turn makes it very effective as an obstacle to mess up Rebel maneuvers. And it's a beast to kill! It doesn't hurt an Imp force to have one around in support, especially for TIE bombers.

Lambada shuttle??? Do you mean Lambda?

Thank you Inari7.
Yes I have played the game quite a few times.

I was wondering if there was anything in the Lambda's kit which I'd missed specific to say the Rebels couldn't use it, despite a big part of ROTJ doing so.

Thank you Parzival. I'll have to try it with some Bombers.

I was wondering as Han and Chewie are such hotshots in the Falcon, "Whatif" they had to slug it out while in the shuttle. How they would have gone above the moon?

We tried a one on one game of the Shuttle vs a YT-1300.
Really sad as the rebels could fly and loop and just park up beside the shuttle out of it's firing arc each turn at range 1 and shoot it full of holes. Took three turns to blow it apart.
We then tried it with some fighters running interference. Very different. Parking the shuttle for a turn out of the fight is very handy, allowing to fire at anything whizzing past.
