So "Santa" gave me my Martian Empires starter sets (Imperial and Giant Tribal Martians) today and I have a couple of questions. 1) The Imperial Martians Guard rifemen are listed as Regular Infantry to be mounted on 40×20mm stands but all I got where 40×40 stands. Does it matter? I suppose I can always cut a stand in half. 2) I got one pack each of regular and guard infantry command figures. I don't see anywhere in the rules where multi-figure "command stands" are used. Command Stands seem to involve single figure "Character" stands. Looking through the pictures in rhe book it appears that the figures included in the command packs are spread out amongst the various stands that make up a unit. Any help with this is appreciated. |

Hey Tberry, Mounting the Imperial Martian Guard on 40x20 bases will make it a little easier to manuever. But you could go with 40x40 if you wanted. You are correct, the 'command packs/ing/grd' are for the units. Here is a link to my site and some of our games. martianwarlords.blogspot.com |

Thanks. What do you use for command figures? Do you use the mounted Princes or other figures? |

Where did you get the Baron? Did someone kit-bash him? 'Cause he looks familiar. |

Yes, Mounted princes as the commanders. The Baron is from a 15mm Vic Scifi range, can't remem ber the name but made 15mm 1889 figs. |

D6 has answered pretty much everything. I mounted my guards on 40mm deep bases so you can fit the pavises on and protect the pole arms for the other unit type It doesn't make much difference in the game – Martian Empires is not a precise positions game like the DBx ones. Mike |

I'm thinking of mounting my Guards on 40×20 bases with the pavises on seperate bases. The "logic" behind this is I see Guard units as a bodyguard force for the army commander. They setup their pavises almost as a dugin position and protect the general. If they have to move out they leave the pavises behind. |

The Baron is from a 15mm Vic Scifi range, can't remember the name but made 15mm 1889 figs. Haven't heard much lately, but I believe the 15mm version has been called Mars Needs Steam. But, yes, Highlander Studios was doing the 'official' models. Doug |
