I am pleased to finally announce the release of Full Thrust: Project Continuum!
This project has almost taken on a life of its own with so many of you contributing and occasionally commenting on this as work it went along. This truly is a rule book by gamers for gamers. I'd like to thank all of you for your ideas, feedback, submissions, support and encouragement. When reading through this keep in mind that this is an ‘amateur' publication and as such may contain several (of more than several) typos, errors and just plain "ooopsies". It is for that reason we recommend you do not get it printed just yet. If you find any such errors let us know. We'll leave the document up for a few months waiting for your feedback and then make any corrections all in one shot and then re-release it as edition 1.1. What sort of feedback are we looking for? Any typos or grammatical errors, any rules that may be written in a confusing manor or an example that perhaps could be made more clear. Every effort was made to ensure the different systems in this rule set are balanced with each other. Even so there will be players out there who will come up with combinations of offensive and defensive systems that we didn't think of and may seem over powering. Game groups should make every effort to police themselves when situations like this arise. For example- in our group we typically do not allow players to use fighters and gun boats in the same fleet. Your group may not see that as "cheesy" as we do. So, what we are not looking for in feedback is, for example, "Phasers are too over powering." or some such. If you find that to be the case simply do not use them or modify them to your taste. We would also like to see your SSDs! This, to me, is the most exciting kind of feedback. We will be setting up a ‘Tab' on our website for player submissions. We look forward to hearing from all of you. Any and all comments welcome! Watch the skies!!! link |

*woof* 156 pages? Now, I'm frightened! ;->= Will definitely be reading next week during work while the University is shut down. Must say, I will have to print SOME; I can tell moving back and forth will be easier for me. There are those who've found changes from Fleet Books on too much. I've never understood why they just didn't play what they enjoyed. *sigh* Can hardly wait for the local 'oh, yeah, Full Thrust, we used to play that, it was a lot of fun, we'll give it a try later' crowd to have a look. You can't please everyone; there's purists in all subject areas. And they can always ignore whatever rule(s) they don't like after all. :) |

jimklein1966, Thank for your effort and those of the other contributors. In the pictures on page 20, it shows a 12 point course template. What company makes those templates? |
jimklein1966 | 24 Dec 2014 10:44 p.m. PST |
Thanks all!!! The course template is made by corsec engineering. Its not in his regular line of items so if you want one you'll need to email him directly. |

Kudos to all that worked contributed to this rule set. The only thing that bothers me about this rule set, I am going to have to go buy some space ships to play it. Mike |

And they can always ignore whatever rule(s) they don't like after all. :) Of course, the folks that DO are usually quietly watching their opponent's ships 'burning noiselessly in the aether…' I remember the first time I sat in on con game long after the Fleet Books were released, and the fellow brought out ships with four fire arcs on the bases. Took a real brain realignment to play, but had a blast! Still down with six arcs, mind you. Doug |

Because it wasn't planned in the budget! |

Excellent-this has been my post-Christmas dinner read whilst everybody else napped……..superb! Congratulations and thanks to the team involved! |

Any recommendations for simulating Klingon disruptors in the Star trek Universe? |
jimklein1966 | 26 Dec 2014 9:27 p.m. PST |
Thanks all! I hope everyone enjoys it. As for disrupters weve been using plasma cannons. Tough to get thru shields but once they do the effect is devestatig |
tkdguy | 27 Dec 2014 12:51 a.m. PST |
Is the K-gun back? I missed it in Cross Dimensions. |
billclo | 27 Dec 2014 4:58 a.m. PST |
K-Gun is back, with long and short range variants. Also note the High Intensity option for Heavy Grasers (cost goes to 4/mass, but you get a re-roll on a die roll of "6"). |
jimklein1966 | 27 Dec 2014 11:04 a.m. PST |
The rules include the K-gun yes. As Billclo said it includes the short and long range version as well as the ability to perform 'flak barrages' (if upgraded) in BSG style |

"Can hardly wait for the local 'oh, yeah, Full Thrust, we used to play that, it was a lot of fun, we'll give it a try later' crowd to have a look. Doug" Doug, you know I'm always up for a game of anything. The problem is finding a time that works for both of us. I'd be up for trying old school Full Thrust or the new version. Sean |
jimklein1966 | 30 Dec 2014 5:25 p.m. PST |
If any of ya'll are near the Pensacola area we will be doing a FT event at Pensacon, last wekend in february |
TheBeast | 30 Dec 2014 8:51 p.m. PST |
Sean, I've never felt you wouldn't follow through. Last time we played FT, I whipped a lopsided scenario on the spot, you soldiered on most admirably. Even poor Randy gamely played a forlorn hope. Both of you were furthest from my mind, and I must so declare publicly. Now, a few of my partners… ;->= Really, the 'New Year's Resolution' thread had me start and delete a 'to just play ANYTHING' post. I really miss you guys. Now, what I want to know, are you getting any feedback, Jim? If Facebook is a buzz, I'd never know, but not seeing anything here or on the Yahoo group. Doug |

An FAQ and Eratta has been posted under the rules. Thanks to everyone that have posted questions and edits! After a month or so these will be incorporated into the rulebook. Thanks all! |

Jim tells me that the rules are approaching 1000 downloads since he put them up on Christmas Eve. Yea! |
thedrake | 04 Jan 2015 7:07 p.m. PST |
Downloaded the rules and faq/errata and printed out in color to start using as my comprehensive FT rules set. Thanks to Jim and company for their work on this and sharing it with fellow spaceship gamers! |

Okay, I have to admit it, as I was thumbing through the rules I was kinda iffy…and then I got to page 117. You included something 'for sheer awesomeness' You now have a fan! |

Thanks all. Glad folks like it so far. There are few more minor things going in the FAQ- nothing that changes rules). We'll put everything into the 1.1 version at the end of this month and re-release the book with everyones corrections, errata and so on. The only major change that may be coming is how holofields work against projectile weapons. many have pointed out that they are too powerful against K-guns (for example). One fix we are play testing this week is to scrap the "only hits on a 6" mechanic and replace it where the firing ship adds 12mu to its range to the holofield equipped ship. It will still make the ship difficult to hit but helps the odds a bit. Billclo Glad you like that page :) I wish I could remember where I found it so we could properly credit the designer. |
