Hi all, Does anyone know if the Foreign Legion regiments serving during the Crimean War wore the uniform usually associated with the Legion (photo taken from Artizan's website):
Or were they wearing a different uniform? Thanks for your help Ryan |

As noted, the Crimean War uniforms were quite different from la kepi blanche usually associated with the Legion |

Thanks chaps. I did see that picture, but I was a little surprised that the uniform was so light. Great if it's correct though, as at least the Legion troops will stand out from the line |

Brummie lad be careful. The print is a representation. The colour was actually the dark blue of the rest of the Army. |

At one point, around this time, they were in green. And had a Swiss unit. |

They would certainly stand out on the Crimean battle field with those breech loaders :). As wargamers we all want to believe in that green uniform.

That's the one. IIRC they wore it through 1859 and fought in Italy wearing it. |
